Bride in a short made-to-measure white dress with her groom on red-carpeted steps

A bride in Spain sent back a few photographs from her wedding day. For a dress made at a distance, this is the moment the studio knows everything worked — her face in the photographs says more than any set of measurements.

The dress she chose

A short white dress, straight across the bust, with a lightly flared skirt so she could move easily on the steps and through the party. We make this shape often for the reception after the ceremony too.

Why we ask for photographs after the wedding

Our dresses are sewn to your measurements with no allowance left for alterations, so we never get the chance to re-fit on the body the way we would in the studio. The photographs you send back are the final check: did the dress sit the way the pattern intended, and what should we carry forward to the next one. And when a bride feels something is not right, it is usually the way the dress is being put on rather than the measurements — so we walk her through that first, and adjust only after.

What happens before the photographs

We send measuring instructions with pictures and take the measurements together with you on a video call; in some cases we ask you to measure again so the two sets can be checked against each other. The pattern is cut for your measurements alone, never from a stock shape, and the dress is sewn exactly to them with no extra fabric left for later alterations — which is why measuring is the most important step. When the dress is finished, before it is packed, we photograph it and send you those pictures: the finished dress, not stages of production. It is folded in layers with anti-crease padding, wrapped against moisture and sent with a carrier chosen for that route, with a tracking number. If something feels off when you first put it on, it is most often the way the dress is being worn, so we guide you through wearing it correctly first and fine-tune only if it is still needed. Her wedding photographs are simply the last step of that chain.
