That is what Phương Nguyễn says to every bride in their first meeting, and it decides how the whole studio works. LAM’S Bridal is a made-to-measure atelier in Ho Chi Minh City — wedding dresses, reception and after-party dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and áo dài, the Vietnamese wedding dress.

It starts with listening

Every dress here begins with sitting down and listening: your story, the room you will be married in, and the things brides are usually shy to say about their own bodies. Only after that do the silhouette, the fabric and each detail get chosen.

“I don’t sew dresses to look good in photographs. I sew them so that you are comfortable when you sit down, when you hug your mother, when you dance at the party — and still feel like yourself.”

And it does not end on the day the dress is handed over. We show you how to press it, how to hang it, how to keep it whole — because the day is worth keeping.

Three things we keep to

01Your own pattern, never an altered stock blockEvery dress gets a pattern of its own, drafted to your measurements and your proportions. It is the most laborious step, and it is the one that decides whether the dress fits.

02Only real photographs, never retouchedBrides often ask why we don’t make the pictures prettier. Because if the photograph is better than the dress, you will be disappointed at the first fitting — and that is the one thing we will not risk.

03We make for brides wherever they areDresses have gone to brides in the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, Korea, Germany, Spain and Russia. You measure at home with our guidance, and the dress travels to you with tracking.

Where we are

The studio is at S2.01 Vinhomes Grand Park, 512 Nguyễn Xiển, Long Bình Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Open 9:00–20:00 daily by appointment, so that Phương can receive you herself. If you cannot come, the whole process works over video — the making is identical, only the meetings happen on a screen.
