This dress was made for a bride living in Germany — and she never once walked into the studio.
The direction she chose
She wanted something light and romantic rather than grand. We went towards a floral dress: a soft pattern, an airy shape, easy to move in — which suited an outdoor European wedding.
Measurements taken at home
Every measurement was taken by the bride herself at home, following our guide, and cross-checked on a video call. The finished dress was packed to hold its shape and sent to Germany. Germany is one of the countries we ship to most often, alongside the United States, Australia, Japan and Canada.
Why the measuring mattered most
Every dress we make is drafted from a pattern of its own, cut to the bride’s measurements rather than taken from a stock block. It is also sewn to those measurements with no allowance left in the seams to let out later. For a bride who never comes to the studio, that makes the numbers she sends the most important step of the whole order.
That is why we do not leave it to her alone. We send an illustrated guide first, then measure together on a video call, and sometimes we ask for a second measurement to cross-check a figure. During those calls we put fabrics and samples in front of the camera, so a bride can see the fall and the true colour for herself. The design and the cost are settled in messages.
How a dress travels to Germany
Before it leaves the studio the dress is folded in layers, padded against creasing and wrapped against moisture. We choose the courier route by route, and every parcel has a tracking number. The photographs we send beforehand are of the finished dress, taken just before it is packed.
One note if you are planning from Europe: we do not take rush orders for brides abroad. The making schedule is counted backwards from your wedding date, leaving time for shipping and for you to try the dress on.
