This dress was made for a bride living in the United States. She and LAM’S never met in person — everything happened through messages and video calls.

Why double-faced satin

Double-faced satin is soft to the touch and falls beautifully, but it has body to it rather than being flimsy. For a dress that has to travel, that weight is an advantage: it holds its shape better over the distance.

How the measurements were taken from that far away

LAM’S sent an illustrated measuring guide, then measured together with the bride on a video call to be sure the tape was sitting where it should. The dress was then sewn to exactly those measurements — not taken from a stock block, and with no seam allowance left for alterations later. That is why the measuring step matters more than any other.

Sending it to the United States

The dress was folded in layers, padded against creasing and wrapped against moisture before packing. The courier was chosen for that particular route, and the bride had a tracking number so she knew where the dress was. When it was finished, LAM’S photographed it exactly as it was — no brightening, no smoothing — and sent the photos before it was packed. The sewing schedule is always counted backwards from the wedding date, which is why LAM’S does not take rush orders from brides abroad.

Photographs, shipping and the first fitting

When the dress is finished, before it is packed, we photograph it and send you those pictures: the finished dress, not stages of production. It is folded in layers with anti-crease padding, wrapped against moisture and sent with a carrier chosen for that route, with a tracking number. If something feels off when you first put it on, it is most often the way the dress is being worn, so we guide you through wearing it correctly first and fine-tune only if it is still needed.
